Ginny Wright has joined Orveon Global as CEO. She was previously CEO of Audemars Piguet Americas and president of Kiehl’s Since 1851. Orveon owns Buxom, Laura Mercier and Bare Minerals. Shana Rhandhava, who stepped from her role as SVP of New Incubation Ventures, the early-stage incubation and investment arm of Estée Lauder, in March, has become president of Marubeni Growth Capital US. An arm of Marubeni, Marubeni Growth Capital US’s LinkedIn profile says it’s a “consumer-focused investment platform providing capital and strategic support to innovative brands and retail concepts.”

Peri Izzo, who’s been at Estée Lauder for over six years, has become executive director of New Incubation Ventures. She was previously the company’s director and CEO of the global reverse mentorship program and UK/EMEA presidential program. New Incubation Ventures’ investments include Vyrao, KIKI World and People Care. Planet Care., the brand formerly called Haeckels.

George Schaeffer, founder of OPI and Aloxxi, has joined the board of Product Society. The contract beauty manufacturer and third-party logistics provider operates from a former OPI facility in North Hollywood, Calif., and it spans over 50,000 square feet. The company is on pace to double its business this year, serving around 100 clients with its sweet spot being beauty brands generating $1 million to $20 million in revenues.

Mumuk, a brand that describes its positioning as regenerative skincare at an accessible price, launched on June 24 with a single product, the $96 Regenerative Complex Cell Renewal Serum. Founded by Stephanie Sprayregen, also founder of digital marketing agency Spray Marketing, it’s powered by a 5% antioxidant and epidermal growth factor complex.

Elm Biosciences, the brand from Martha Stewart and her dermatologist Dhaval Bhanusali, launching next month, has raised a $3.5 million oversubscribed funding round, according to Bhanusali, who worked on Rhode’s skincare formulas, co-founded Aire Health, a platform more than 4,000 dermatologists use to bring skincare products to their patients, and founded Skin Medicinals, a prescription platform for compounded dermatological medicines.

Bhanusali says Stewart put money into Elm Biosciences, but declines to divulge the exact amount. The brand’s investors include Springdale Ventures and Habitat Partners.

Elm Biosciences is starting with two products: $135 A3O Elemental Serum and $50 Inner Dose The Daily Skin Supplement. Industry sources told the publication Women’s Wear Daily that it could generate $10 million in first-year sales. Nathalie Sperling, co-founder and former CEO of the Halsey-connected brand About Face, has signed on to lead Elm Biosciences. The publication Puck broke the news of her role and Elm Biosciences’ funding.

Mario Badescu didn’t stay silent at the reveal of Elm Biosciences. Stewart has said she’s been going to the brand’s flagship in New York City for facials for over four decades, and she previously collaborated with it on a namesake facial and skincare kits. Commenting on an Instagram post by Elm Biosciences, Mario Badescu wrote, “I hope you didn’t forget about us” accompanied by a sad face emoji. Stewart replied, “I will never ever forget about Mario Badescu! My serum is different.”

Kiss Kiss Goodnight, a brand launched in 2018 by Shelly Ann Winokur, a mom of four children and chemical engineer, with gentle skincare for newborns, has licensed its products to Swedish probiotic supplement company BioGaia. Under the new arrangement, the products will be relaunched under the BioGaia umbrella. Winokur has become chief innovation officer for the company’s skincare division.

Beauty brands promoting that they are free of seed oils, which include sunflower, soybean, safflower, grapeseed and rapeseed, are proliferating. Seed oils have become ingredient non grata for the Make America Healthy Again movement due to claims related to health concerns that are widely disputed.

The Australian ingestible and topical skincare brand Saturée, for example, is certified seed oil-free by the Seed Oil Free Alliance. Szia Skin, a brand incorporating frankincense or olibanum, and Flora x Fauna, a skincare brand selling customers on its affordability compared to Primally Pure, skip seed oils, too.

In contrast, Core Ritual, a new organic skincare and supplement brand from cold-pressed seed oil and powder manufacturer and supplier Botanic Innovations, is promoting the benefits of seed oils for anti-aging purposes. Its products include a $39 cleanser, $56 facial moisturizer, $50 and $65 serums, and $49 supplements for beauty and health.

Beef tallow is an ingredient being added rather than subtracted from skincare with MAHA’s rise. A brand with it, Shelter Skin, launched in April by Catherine Lockhart, a clean beauty and lifestyle content creator with 180,000 followers on TikTok, disclosed that it’s generated $200,000 in its first three months in business with two products.

Priced at $59, No. 1 Vanilla Tallow Body Butter sold out within 24 hours of its launch and had a 500-person wait list before restocking Monday. Priced at $65 No. 2 Vanilla Body Oil is sold out and will be restocked next week. Lanolin Lip Elixir joins the assortment in September.

Following Silverist’s Credo Beauty debut in June, the brand discloses that it outperformed projections by 300% within a month, and its sales are up 163% in direct-to-consumer distribution. Serving people with gray hair and founded by beauty industry veteran Evelyn Wang, Silverist’s bestselling stockkeeping unit is a $45 travel kit with its three products, Buildable Tone Shampoo, Shine-Infusing Conditioner and Leave-In Serum.

Privet, a new brand focused on a brow setting serum made in South Korea with peptides, niacinamide, acetyl tetrapeptide-3, centella asiatica and egcg, is launching Sept. 25 on Shopbop. Rebecca Rittenhouse, an actress with ample brows who starred in the television version of “Four Weddings and a Funeral,” is the founder of the brand.

Kiss Kiss Goodnight, a brand with gentle skincare for babies, has licensed its products to Swedish probiotic supplement company BioGaia.

Clary Collection, the clean beauty brand started by Adriel Denae and Jen Goodall in 2016, has created Holy Smoke, an incense with blend of basil, sage and sandalwood, exclusively for singer Maren Morris’s The Dreamsicle Tour, which runs from July 12 to Nov. 20 with over 40 stops in North America, Europe and the United Kingdom. Massage therapist and aromatherapist Emily Girvin worked with the brand on the incense.

RBrow shuttered on June 30 four years after writer and editor Rachel Marlowe launched the brand with an all-natural eyebrow styling balm. Priced at $23, the balm was formulated to create full, glossy brows.

GlamGlow, the Estée Lauder-owned brand known for its mud treatment masks, halted its U.S. e-commerce website in May. The site now directs shoppers to Amazon, and select products remain available through Macy’s, Target and HSN.

B3 Balm, a small-batch natural skincare brand with topical products and tools for everyday makeup consumers and professional makeup artists, has closed. Julia Dalton-Brush, a makeup artist and aesthetician, founded the brand in 2018. In an Instagram post from Friday on the closure, she shared she’s not stepping away from beauty, writing, “I’m already working on what’s next — new treatments, new products, new content and a new way to bring the luxury, efficacy, and artistry you’ve come to expect from me.”

In a comment on the post, makeup artist and brand founder Danessa Myricks wrote, “You built something magical with products and tools I shared all over the world, products that were a part of my growth as an artist and products that made the lives of so many artists better. I’m so proud of you.”

After seven years, founder Sasha LoPresti, VP at product distributor Trucco, closed the skincare brand Amame. In an email to customers and Amame’s site, she wrote, “While we’re saying goodbye for now, we’re holding onto hope that this isn’t forever. Life has a way of surprising us, and we’d love to cross paths again in the future.”

Australian natural perfume brand One Seed announced on July 31 that it’s closing following 16 years. Liz Cook founded the brand after starting and selling three skincare boutiques. She’s called it the first natural perfume company in Australia. One Seed’s final products can be found at about 150 retailers.

Lash serum brand Lash Spell has shuttered after five years in business. The brand previously had partnerships with FabFitFun, Free People, Von Maur, and spas at the Four Seasons and Grand Wailea, according to a message to customers from co-founder Tara Bogna.

She wrote, “It stings to let go of something that still holds so much potential. But sometimes you have to make space—to move forward, to heal, to rediscover what matters most. This is my space-making moment.”

One Seed, which describes itself as the first natural perfume company in Australia, has closed after 16 years in business.

Founder Namhee Han, who formerly worked in marketing at Amazon, Wella and Coty, closed 2-year-old Be-Tween on June 30. The skincare brand was striving to be a leader in the tween market.

Organic Bath Co., a clean bath and body care brand that was stocked in stores such as Aillea, Clean Market, Boston General and Fig & Flower, has closed. The last day it shipped products was July 25. Husband-and-wife team Gianne Doherty and Jay Weeks founded Organic Bath Co. in 2014. It was inspired by Doherty’s globetrotting and a reaction she had to conventional beauty products.

In a note to customers, they wrote, “Thank you for welcoming our products into your lives and for being part of our story. Your support, your love, and your belief in what we were building meant the world to us. Because of you, we created something meaningful—and we’ll always be proud of what we built together.”

Versine, a pregnancy-safe skincare brand launched by Harvard-trained lawyer Jeannie Gao in 2020 after being frustrated by the lack of skincare guidance and options for pregnant women, announced on Sunday that it’s closing. Gao also co-founded Narisure, a doctor-backed, all-natural nasal moisturizer.

Skinergy Beauty, a skincare brand that specialized in tackling hyperpigmentation, is shuttering after eight years. It’s stocked on its website and Nordstrom’s website. In an Instagram post on Monday, founder Priscilla Jiminian wrote, “It’s been the hardest, most draining fight of my life. I’ve gone into debt I’ll now have to pay off for years. I applied to the Ulta Muse Accelerator three times and never got in. I’ve lost more grants than I’ve won.” She added, “As a Latina, self-funded founder, not having access to the same funding and resources that other get handed so easily has been one of the biggest hurdles.”
