Account & billing
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Settings → Billing → Change plan → Cancel. You keep access through the end of your current period; no refunds, but you can re-activate any time and your saves, threads, and saved searches stay put for 90 days.
Can I switch between Brand Pro and Investor Pro?
Not directly — different tiers for different audiences. Contact billing@beautyindependent.com if your team straddles both sides.
How do I update my payment method?
Settings → Billing → Payment method → Edit. We support Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and ACH for annual invoices.
What happens if my card fails?
Past-Due state surfaces a banner across Orbit so you can update your payment method. If the card stays unpaid, your account moves to Suspended and gated features go offline. Your data is preserved.

Why is News a single article instead of a list?
We don't think you need to scroll through 12 headlines to find the one. Orbit lands you in the most recent — swipe to the next. The list view is intentionally not there.
Can I download articles to read offline?
Saved articles work offline on mobile. Web cache holds your last 50 reads.

How is the BIT index built?
Editorial researches the foundational records. Brands, retailers, and investors can claim their cards and submit edits — every change is reviewed by our editors before publishing.
My brand isn't in the BIT index. Can I submit one?
Yes — Settings → Profile → "Submit a BIT". Submissions are reviewed by our editors before publishing.
Surveys & benchmarks
How are cohort benchmarks calculated?
Twice a year we run 5 surveys: CEO, CFO, COO, Investor, and Retailer. Cohorts are revenue bands ($0-10M, $10-40M, $40-80M, $80M+). All responses are anonymous; we publish median, top quartile, and bottom quartile.
Can I see other brands' individual responses?
No. Every response is anonymized in aggregate. Your individual answers never appear in a published report.
