Sexual wellness brands are very busy helping people get busy—and do much more than that. From pleasure products to period care and everything in between, they’re pumping out innovative and beautifully crafted products. We’ve rounded up a dozen recent launches of note. Looking for the latest breakthroughs or a last-minute unconventional gift idea? Read on.

Intimate Care

Foy Puissance Vulva Serum: When dermatologist Kristina Collins launched her clean skincare range this summer, she made sure she had the neck up covered with a serum, moisturizer, night oil and lip and eye cream. But the Harvard University-trained doc didn’t stop there. Foy also has two vulva care products, Vulva Treatment Oil, $78, and Puissance Vula Serum, $79. Puissance is a silky, jelly-like serum formulated with prebiotics, probiotics, hemp seed oil and fern extract to cool skin as well as improve hydration, brightness and overall vulvar well-being.

Ina Balancing Cleanser: Intimate skincare range Ina debuted in October with five thoughtfully designed products, which are the the brainchildren of veteran cosmetic chemist Susan Goldsberry and OB-GYN Beri Ridgeway. Like all Ina’s products, the $24 Balancing Cleanser contains the brand’s proprietary Ina-V Complex with centella asiatica, sea buckthorn and moringa. The formula is intended to gently cleanse while moisturizing, soothing and protecting delicate intimate skin.

Momotaro Apotheca The Suppository: Since its launch five years ago, Momotaro Apotheca has been on a mission to completely makeover of the “feminine care” aisle, including abolishment of the term “feminine care.” The brand’s latest addition to its collection of vulva and vaginal wellness products is The Suppository, now available for presale on Momotaro’s website. It’s priced at $30. Founder Lindsay Wynn created The Suppository to be a natural alternative to Vagisil and Monistat. It’s formulated to deliver concentrated internal relief from symptoms of yeast infections and other common vulvovaginal issues as it tackles their root causes.

Yung Bod C-Section Mama Cream: After her first C-section, scientist Kristy Catania Young noticed how little care was given to C-section scarring. “I had underlying symptoms of back pain, interstitial cystitis, my scar was burning, tingling, without anyone identifying that they were all linked,” she recalls. When she could only find messy oils and balms that were not practical for busy new moms, Young embarked on creating the cream and massaging tool she believed should be available. Mama Cream, $44, has ingredients like onion extract and immortelle that not only help to soothe, moisturize and rebuild the skin, but lighten and relieve the pliability of the area, too. Yung Bod’s $88 C-Section Solace Kit includes Mama Cream and a stainless steel and amethyst C-Section Rock n’ Roller.

Lady Suite Intimate Serum: Lady Suite was one of the first brands to bring vulva skincare to the market in 2018. Its latest offering is the mushroom-powered $24 Intimate Serum, a water-based liquid that targets dryness, pain or discomfort during intimacy while augmenting lubrication to enhance pleasure. “This product was one of the most requested in customer surveys,” says Lady Suite co-founder Therese Clarke. “They want to incorporate products that make intimate moments more comfortable and fun sans the ingredient baddies and pH disruptions linked to common infections. As vulvar skin experts and my own customer, we created a safe pH-balanced formula with hydrating, nourishing and pro-microbiome ingredients like tremella mushroom extract for a healthy glide that keeps on gliding. A big difference is the glycerin-free silky texture.”

V-qool’s hydrogel patches help alleviate common menopause effects like hot flashes and night sweats.

V-qool: Hot flashes and night sweats are two of the most pervasive issues menopausal women deal with. New brand V-qool has launched with a novel solution. Three women doctors—OB-GYN Alyssa Dweck, sex therapist Miriam Baker and psychotherapist Nyiri Grigorian—created its patented non-hormonal hydrogel patch priced at $25 for a 24-count jar. The patch is worn discreetly in the panty to deliver an immediate cooling sensation via evaporation to the sensitive skin of the vulva and clitoris, known for its rich blood supply and dense concentration of nerves.

Period Care

Xula x Barbari Period Daze: Cycle support CBD-powered brand Xula partnered with cannabis brand Barbari on $10 Period Daze, a CBD and CBG preroll designed to be used in combination with Xula’s Happy Period tincture for cramp and stress reduction. Xula co-founder and CEO Karina Primelles says, “We are brands that have a deep appreciation for the benefits of both cannabinoids and herbs. The partnership with Barbari was the perfect synergy. Hello Period Hello Disc: Environmentally minded consumers who menstruate have been turning to more sustainable period care products like reusable pads, absorbent underwear and menstrual cups to reduce waste. For people new to the cup life, though, removal can be tricky. To address that problem, Hello Period created $36.99 Hello Disc in collaboration with menstrual cup and disc expert expert Kim Rosas and registered nurse Mary Bond. Hello Disc features a double-looped tab for easy removal and is constructed to be one size fits most. Made from medical-grade silicone to hold 50 milliliters of fluid, it’s constructed to be safe to wear with an IUD and for no-mess period sex.

Enuf Cycle Support CBD Suppositories Day & Night Duo: In the sexual health space, suppositories are quickly becoming the format du jour due to their efficacy. Founded by Halle Berry’s hairstylist Sara Seward, menstrual and sexual wellness brand Enuf has introduced two plant-based, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial vegan suppositories: Day and Night. They’re priced at $30 each or $48 together. Day and Night contain 100 milligrams of CBD, plus Day has 25 milligrams of CBG and Night has 10 milligrams of CBN. The suppositories combat period pain and can be used before intercourse to ease tension, during intercourse for lubrication, and after intercourse for increased relaxation. Because suppositories allow CBD to avoid the digestive system, the cannabinoid can directly enter the bloodstream for swift results.

Sexual Pleasure

Bido: Libido-boosting supplements have been all the rage this year, with launches into the category from Maude, Dame, Goop, Free Rain, Dr. Janine Mahon and Health By Habit. Declaring itself “foreplay in a bottle,” new liquid supplement Bido is a 2.5-oz. shot is formulated with adaptogens, herbs, vitamins and amino acids, including maca root, ashwagandha, niacin, schisandra and damiana, with the goal of supporting desire, confidence and general wellness. The $35.94 product is available in two varieties, For Her and For Him.

MysteryVibe Legato: MysteryVibe harnesses the power of science to help everyone get off. The company recently made headlines as the first pleasure product maker to enable consumers to buy its vibrators with funds from their health savings accounts. Shoppers with some extra FSA funds may want to splurge on MysteryVibe’s latest launch, the $172 Legato. Available for preorder and shipping in March, Legato is a circular, flexible external vibrator that adapts to the shape of the labia and vulva. Legato was built with four different motors to deliver precise vibrations along the labia, clitoris and vulva to increase sensation, blood flow and lubrication. It’s particularly beneficial for consumers who contend with painful sex, vaginismus, arousal disorder, dryness due to menopause or just prefer an alternative to the internal stimulation of a traditional vibrator. Legato can be worn during penetrative sex with a partner.

Sweetums Wipes: At first look, Sweetums’ wipes could be mistaken for a product designed to mask the natural smell of vulvas or penises. While the wipes can cleanse intimate area, the brand’s six flavors—cherry, piña colada, cinnamon bun, watermelon, mango, peach and minty sweet—are exactly that, flavors. Sweetums founder and CEO Alisa Brady, a clinical psychologist, developed Sweetums’ $16.99 wipes as a fun way to assist people with amplifying their confidence and connection in the bedroom. Their purpose is to add a feisty flavor to a body part a partner would want to lick, kiss, suck, etc. Just swipe a Sweetums wipe on any external body part and the flavor will be deposited on the skin to be enjoyed.
