Born in Milan in 1960, he graduated in Business Economics from Bocconi University. He joined Framesi, the family company, at young age, eventually becoming President. He started a process of corporate transformation both in management and brand image, leading the Framesi brand to become a prestigious reference point for professional hairdressing sector. Elected President of Cosmetica Italia in 2005, and re-elected twice, Mr. Franchina successfully enhanced the role of the Italian cosmetics industry at European level. He signed important ministerial protocols and carried out several initiatives to increase the sector’s visibility, creating a strong base of collaboration among industry players. In 2010 and 2012, he was elected President of Cosmetics Europe, the European Association of Personal Care, contributing the European cosmetic industry becoming a model for all countries worldwide. He is currently Vice-President of Cosmetica Italia in Charge of Internationalization and President of Professional Products for Hairdressers Group. Still active on a global association level, Mr. Franchina holds a position on the Federchimica General Council (the Italian Federation of Chemical Industries) and the Cosmetics Alliance Canada Board. Furthermore, he is also Vice President of the “Look good – Feel better” Italy.
